Mukhito helps mosques this Ramadan

Peter Mukhito rolled up to several mosques around Lilongwe on Sunday with a truckload of much-needed supplies. As the Democratic Progressive Party's Secretary General, he came bearing gifts during Ramadan bags of maize, sugar, and salt that sparked hope amid the country's tough economic times.

Local sheiks from Chatata, Kauma, and Area 23 couldn't stop singing Mukhito's praises. They were totally pumped about the unexpected help. At Kauma, the sheik even requested mosque renovations. The Area 23 mosque leader asked for a funeral shroud, making it clear how hard they've been struggling to keep things together.

Mukhito knows a thing or two about community service. Having previously served as Inspector General of the Malawi Police during Bingu wa Mutharika's time, he's no stranger to stepping up. He promised to tackle their requests and seemed fired up about making positive changes.

The whole scene was a powerful reminder that sometimes, a little kindness can go a long way. With economic pressures squeezing everyone tight, Mukhito's gesture felt like a lifeline for these mosque communities. His message was crystal clear community matters, and we're all in this together.
