Munetsi excited to join Wolves in Premier League

Marshall Munetsi has joined Wolverhampton Wanderers from French club Reims on transfer deadline day.

The Zimbabwe international served as a team captain at Reims, wearing the armband in his final match last Saturday. Before making his decision, Munetsi sought advice from former Reims teammate Emmanuel Agbadou and Zimbabwe national team colleague Tawanda Chirewa.

"This is a dream come true for me," Munetsi said. "I have always wanted to be part of something big, and joining Wolves means a lot to me and my family."

The midfielder expressed his enthusiasm about playing in England's top flight. "The Premier League stands as the best league. England has a large Zimbabwean population, which makes me feel at home here more than in France."

Munetsi reflected on his time in French football since 2019. "The French league proved very competitive. Those experiences prepared me for this next step," he said. "I learned valuable lessons during my stay at Reims."

His arrival sparked excitement among his contacts at Wolves. "Tawanda messaged me right after seeing the news. He feels happy to have his big brother here," Munetsi shared. "Agbadou plans to welcome me just as I welcomed him to Reims."

The new signing brings leadership qualities to the Wolves squad. "Being a leader requires helping others and setting examples both on and off the field," he said. "I aim to bring these qualities to Wolves, similar to what I demonstrated at Reims."
