Myanmar officials cozy up to Russia's nuke boss

Myanmar's top officials joined atomic energy discussions during Senior General Min Aung Hlaing's official trip to Russia. The delegation attended Moscow's World Atomic Week Forum plenary session on September 26. ROSATOM Director-General Alexey Likhachev led the gathering themed "Everything starts with an atom." Union Ministers for Electric Power, Energy and Health participated alongside regional leaders and business representatives.

The Myanmar group later joined the Russia-ASEAN talks during evening sessions. ROSATOM officials hosted a diplomatic dinner for participating delegations. Acting President Min Aung Hlaing leads Myanmar's State Security and Peace Commission. The visit strengthens bilateral cooperation between the two nations on nuclear technology and energy development.
