Myanmar's top judge gets legal tips from the Kremlin

Myanmar's highest court official led legal experts to Russia's biennial Asia-Pacific judicial conference from September 21-24. Union Chief Justice U Tha Htay joined representatives from 16 nations at the regional legal gathering. Russian Acting Chief Justice Yuri Ivanenko hosted bilateral talks with Myanmar officials on September 21.

Both courts signed agreements strengthening judicial cooperation between their nations. Ivanenko held an evening reception at the Third General Jurisdiction Court of Cassation building for visiting delegates. Forum participants examined tax law, customs regulations, competition rules and intellectual property matters during working sessions.

Assistant Director U Zarli San delivered Myanmar's presentation on intellectual property protection from judicial perspectives. The forum promotes regional legal collaboration through regular exchanges between Asia-Pacific court systems.
