Nangula Uaandja to leave NIPDB by year's end

Nangula Uaandja will leave her role as chief executive of the Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board before the start of next year. Staff members learned during an internal briefing that her employment agreement expires and that she intends to take several months away from work after nearly three decades of continuous service. Uaandja indicated her willingness to support economic development efforts through either government or private sector engagement following her hiatus.

Her departure coincides with significant organizational changes that transferred authority from the presidential office to the Ministry of International Relations and Trade. The investment promotion agency faces potential downgrading to departmental status under ministerial oversight, creating uncertainty among employees about future positions. The board was established as a nonprofit entity during the previous administration with Uaandja serving as its inaugural leader, overseeing investment attraction and support for micro and small enterprises.
