Nankhumwa grovels for a job from Mutharika in Blantyre

Kondwani Nankhumwa commended President Arthur Peter Mutharika on Saturday for prioritizing citizen welfare after the inauguration at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre. The People's Development Party president said Mutharika's address demonstrated dedication to tackling corruption and economic challenges. Nankhumwa formerly held the position of Democratic Progressive Party vice president for the Southern Region.

The political leader said effective governance demands cooperation among all parties to achieve progress. He attended the ceremony after receiving a direct invitation from Mutharika and expressed willingness to assist the administration if tasks benefit Malawians rather than serve political purposes. Nankhumwa stressed that development transcends partisan interests and requires stakeholders to place national welfare above individual ambitions.

Mutharika pledged to combat corruption and restore accountability in public institutions. He warned that misuse of public funds would face consequences regardless of political or regional affiliations. Political analysts view the collaborative tone between opposition and government figures as a potential shift toward constructive governance in Malawi.
