NCIA Cops Hunt Border Drug Lords

Criminal investigation academy leader Sospeter Munyi wants officers to watch borders more carefully. He spoke for the criminal investigations director during a five day drug training workshop. Munyi told officers to focus on stopping drug smugglers and human traffickers. Transport hubs and border crossings need extra attention from police teams. Women and children face special dangers from trafficking networks.

Drug fighting presents major challenges for police across the region. Officers must use new training skills to recognize dangerous substances and respond quickly. Law enforcement teams have duties under United Nations crime fighting agreements. Criminal groups cannot have safe spaces to operate anywhere near Kenya. Free movement policies should not help traffickers escape justice.

Italy and the European Union helped organize the important training session. The workshop brought together drug experts and police officers from different agencies. Samuel Laboso from the anti narcotics unit attended the closing ceremony. Italian ambassador Roberto Natali joined other senior officials at the event. Training director Adan Guyo also participated during the final day.
