NCP's Nahid Islam calls to abolish Mujibad constitution

National Citizen Party Convener Nahid Islam addressed supporters at Banarupa CNG Station, advocating for constitutional reform during a public demonstration. The political leader called for abolishing the current Mujibad constitution and establishing a new democratic framework through broad national agreement. Islam emphasized the proposed charter would protect citizens from both mountainous and lowland regions while ensuring equal treatment across all communities. The party seeks to construct a governmental structure that embraces diverse ethnic groups, languages, and cultural traditions without creating hierarchies based on background or origin.

District Chief Coordinator Bipin Jyoti Chakma welcomed attendees while senior leaders Samantha Sharmin, Dr Tasneem Zara, Sarjis Alam, and Hasnat Abdullah delivered speeches at the gathering. Chief Coordinator Nasir Uddin Patwari joined other party officials at the afternoon event following earlier demonstrations in Betbunia, Ghagra, and Ranirhat Bazar locations. The political movement continues building support for constitutional changes that would guarantee fundamental rights and human dignity for all citizens regardless of their geographic or cultural origins.
