Nga Kor Ming funnels RM62.76 million into Tawau projects

The Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT) is allocating RM62.76 million for 18 public infrastructure projects aimed at benefiting more than 200,000 residents in Tawau. Minister Nga Kor Ming stated the year-round projects, focused on urban wellbeing, are overseen by KPKT agencies. One key project is the RM43 million sanitary landfill center in Bukit Gemok, essential for maintaining Tawau’s cleanliness and appeal as a major tourism destination in Sabah.

Other initiatives include the beautification of Tawau's town landscape, the construction of a fire station and quarters in Merotai, and upgrades to public markets. Previously approved projects in Sabah include a RM20 million botanical garden in Kota Kinabalu and a RM30 million car park in Foh Sang.
