The Ministry of Education has directed the College of Business Education to develop and enhance both short and long-term business education programs. Permanent Secretary Professor Carolyne Nombo stated that this initiative aims to produce qualified teachers and strengthen business training nationwide. She highlighted that the revised education policy now mandates Business Studies as a compulsory subject for all students, positioning it as a key solution for youth unemployment.
Professor Nombo urged the college to prepare policy briefs to guide government decisions and emphasized the importance of translating research into accessible public knowledge. She also confirmed the college is being considered for a 26.5 billion shilling project under the Higher Education for Economic Transformation initiative. College officials reported a current enrollment of 23,111 students and announced plans to open a new campus in the Kilimanjaro Region to expand its reach.
