Nyakwima's Fadza Madzimai armed robbery

A 22-year-old university student faces multiple charges after authorities say he stole his landlord's pistol and robbed a Harare pharmacy before buying groceries for his girlfriend with the proceeds. Panashe Nyakwima, who attends Chinhoyi University of Technology, appeared in court over the weekend and was told to seek bail through the High Court. Police recovered the weapon following his arrest.

Zimbabwean law prescribes at least 10 years imprisonment for armed robbery, with life sentences possible when firearms are involved. Unauthorized firearm possession carries up to five years behind bars. Theft penalties vary based on the stolen property value. Nyakwima remains detained while awaiting his bail hearing at the higher court level.
