Nyandarua lawmaker killed crossing busy highway

A bus killed Beth Wahito late Saturday night on the busy Nairobi-Nakuru Highway. The woman worked as a county assembly member for Nyandarua. She had just finished a budget meeting over at Naivasha and was heading back home. The deadly crash happened around eleven at night when she tried to cross the road. She died right there at the scene.

Stephen Wachira Waiganjo runs the county assembly and he told everyone about what happened. He said nice things about Wahito after she passed away. The speaker called her a brave person who always stood up for poor people. She never backed down from fights and always helped people who needed it most. Wahito spent her whole life trying to make things better for others.

This lady had worked for the government for more than thirty years. She started out with the Democratic Party way back when. Later on she became the head person for NARC-Kenya around Nyandarua. Her most recent job was working with the United Democratic Alliance as their local coordinator. Political people across the area feel really sad about losing her.

Police officers took the bus that hit her back to their station at Naivasha. They want to figure out exactly how the accident happened. The whole community misses her already because she did such good work for everyone.
