Omnipath lab accused of kickbacks from Parirenyatwa car park

The Association of Healthcare Funders of Zimbabwe has formally accused Omnipath Medical Laboratories of operating an unauthorized sample collection point from a vehicle inside Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals. In a letter to the hospital's chief medical officer, Dr. Tsitsi Magure, the association stated its investigators verified the illicit setup within the hospital's casualty area.

AHFoZ alleged the operation facilitated improper referral incentives for healthcare professionals, a practice it described as a violation of medical ethics and illegal. The association has suspended Omnipath's registration indefinitely and escalated the matter to the relevant professional council for regulatory scrutiny.

It is now demanding that Parirenyatwa's leadership clarify whether Omnipath was granted any official permission to operate in this manner on the hospital premises.
