Orange Egypt and mnGm now sling gold in Egypt

Orange Egypt has become the country's first telecommunications company to offer digital gold transactions through mobile payment systems. The service operates through a partnership with mnGm, an established online precious metals trading platform. Customers can access the new feature via the My Orange mobile application and the Orange Cash Wallet system.

The platform enables users to start trading with investments as low as five Egyptian pounds. New customers receive up to £100 in rewards when making their first monthly gold purchase of £500 or more. These bonus funds can be used to pay mobile bills, add credit to accounts, or renew service packages.

Users must complete a single registration process using their Orange Cash Wallet security code and national identification documents. After registration, customers select their desired gold amount, verify the transaction through text message, and complete payment through their digital wallet. The company designed the entire process to function without physical locations or traditional banking requirements.

Ahmed El-Abd, Orange Egypt's Chief Consumer Business Officer, stated that the service transforms mobile wallets from simple payment tools into comprehensive financial management platforms. The initiative represents Orange Egypt's broader strategy to advance digital financial services throughout the region.
