Orange Maroc unveils tech-driven data center for digital sovereignty

Orange Maroc opened its largest African data facility during a ceremony attended by Nouaceur Province Governor Jalal Benhayoun and representatives from government and business sectors. The infrastructure offers 1.5 megawatts of initial capacity, certified by the UPTIME Institute, while targeting cloud computing, hosting operations, and cybersecurity applications aligned with Morocco's digital sovereignty objectives.

More than a thousand solar panels supply renewable energy to the installation, reducing carbon emissions from daily operations. Orange Maroc positions the center as essential infrastructure supporting the Maroc Digital 2030 initiative and broader economic development frameworks, which require secure, scalable platforms for commercial enterprises and administrative agencies across the kingdom.
