Parvez Hossain Emon eyes a big innings in Bangladesh's ODI decider against Sri Lanka

Bangladesh batsman Parvez Hossain Emon wants to bat for a long time during Tuesday's final cricket match against Sri Lanka. The young player spoke to reporters on Monday about his team's chances at Pallekele stadium. Both countries have won one game each during this three-match series. Emon believes his squad can make history with a series victory on Sri Lankan ground. The left-handed opener feels confident after Bangladesh bounced back from their opening defeat.

Emon made his debut during the first match and managed just 13 runs from 21 balls. He improved dramatically during the second game with a smooth 67 runs from 69 deliveries. The batsman felt disappointed about losing his wicket after getting comfortable at the crease. He admitted missing a chance to score his first century because the pitch suited batting perfectly. Emon regretted not converting his good start into a massive total.

The 22-year-old has no specific run target for the deciding match on Tuesday afternoon. Other players told him the Pallekele wicket should favor batsmen again. Emon plans to build a huge score if he settles at the crease early. Sri Lankan spinner Wanindu Hasaranga dismissed him last time but Emon said the delivery just beat his bat. He praised teammate Rishad Hossain as another quality leg-spinner who deserves more opportunities.
