Passengers Drenched by Airport Fire Drill Oops

Airport workers soaked passengers with cold water at Hosea Kutako International Airport Wednesday. A firefighter made the mistake during daily safety training exercises. The officer sprayed arriving travelers instead of practice targets. Dan Kamati speaks for Namibia Airports Company and confirmed the accident happened. Nobody suffered injuries from the water blast.

Passengers stepped off their planes expecting normal airport service. The rescue and firefighting team conducts regular training sessions each day. One team member aimed the water hose wrong during the drill. Cold water hit multiple people walking through the terminal area. Airport officials apologized to everyone who received the unexpected shower.

The firefighter said sorry to all wet passengers right away. Safety rules remained in place during the entire incident. Airport management reviewed what went wrong with the training session. Travelers continued their journeys after drying off from the accident. Officials promised better control during future firefighting practice.
