The Peoples Democratic Party wants to take control of Alimosho Local Government Area and five smaller council areas around Lagos State. Party leader Isiaka Shodiya told people on Saturday that his political group feels very confident about winning the July 12 voting day. He believes PDP members have strong chances across all the local council areas that voters will decide about. Shodiya said his party workers feel excited and ready to fight hard for victory during the upcoming election battles. The political chairman thinks God will help his team win against their opponents.
Shodiya asked the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission to make sure the voting process stays honest and fair for everyone. He complained that the ruling All Progressives Congress party has broken many promises to regular citizens. The PDP leader said APC politicians have failed to deliver good things for people who voted for them before. Shodiya wants all voters around Alimosho and other parts of Lagos to come out and support his party candidates. He believes large crowds of supporters will show up at voting places to choose PDP representatives.
The opposition party showed off their candidates for chairman and council member positions during a Wednesday meeting around Lagos. These politicians will compete against APC candidates and others during the local government elections next month. PDP hopes to win leadership roles across areas like Igando Ikotun, Egbe-Idimu, Mosan Okunola, Ayobo-Ipaja and Agbado-Oke Odo. Shodiya said his political organization has grown stronger and more united than before. Party members across Lagos State feel ready to challenge the current ruling party for power.
