Penalty agony as Dynamos gift Bikita a draw

Dynamos missed a perfect chance to win their second game of the season after a penalty kick hit the goalpost during Saturday's 1-1 draw against Bikita Minerals at Gibbo Stadium. Captain Shadreck Nyahwa scored first for Dynamos with a header from Abel Gwatidzo's corner kick during the 20th minute. Bikita answered back through Tinashe Ruzive who headed home from another corner to tie the match 1-1. Referee Thembinkosi Sibanda awarded Dynamos a penalty when Frank Agyemang was fouled inside the penalty area. Leeroy Mavhunga stepped up to take the spot kick but struck his shot against the right post.

Coach Saul Chaminuka expressed anger about the penalty miss and questioned why Mavhunga took the kick instead of regular penalty taker Temptation. Nyahwa ran straight to the dressing room after the final whistle without joining teammates for the warm down session. Chaminuka said he felt disappointed because his team created better scoring chances than their opponents throughout the match. The draw marked Chaminuka's fourth game as head coach since replacing Lloyd Chigove. He has recorded three draws and one loss during his early tenure with the club.
