Persona 5 UI Hijacks Clair Obscur Combat

Guillaume Broche gave several interviews after Clair Obscur Expedition 33 became a huge hit with gamers. The game director talked about classic role-playing games that shaped his creative vision. Broche told Japanese website Denfaminicogamer about his childhood gaming experiences. He played many different titles and formed strong opinions about turn-based combat systems. Final Fantasy games and other Japanese series helped him develop his style.

According to Broche, Persona 5 stands out as the most impressive game for battle scenes and menu design. The dramatic camera movements and movie-like action sequences inspired his approach to game development. He adapted these cinematic techniques for his project and added personal creative touches. Broche admits he still works to match the quality of Persona 5's user interface elements. The French developer continues improving his skills to reach that level of polish.

French literature influenced the storytelling methods rather than Japanese game narratives. Broche combined his love for role-playing games with novels from his home country. This unique mixture created a distinctly French approach to the adventure story. Critics expect Clair Obscur Expedition 33 to compete for Game of the Year awards. Grand Theft Auto VI moved to 2026, opening space for other titles to shine.
