Police bust vehicle and livestock theft rings in Makindu and Embu

Authorities detained five individuals during dual enforcement actions targeting organized theft networks across multiple Kenyan counties. Officers captured two men suspected of operating a vehicle robbery scheme along the Mombasa-Nairobi corridor near Makindu. Police linked the pair to stealing a black Toyota Harrier in late August. The arrests yielded registration plates, three identity documents, five cellular devices, and automotive tools.

Investigators simultaneously dismantled a livestock theft ring that spanned the Embu and Kirinyaga regions. Two suspects faced arrest while transporting stolen animals using a Toyota Sienta during nighttime hours. Officers later detained a third individual who allegedly received the stolen cattle and goats. The raids recovered multiple animals, including a heifer, a Friesian cow, ten goats, five kids, and one sheep from various theft locations.
