Police nab three galamsey suspects and seize their kit

Police caught three people doing illegal gold mining at Diaso and took away their equipment. Officers arrested Prosper Quansah, Chrispin Nartey, and Owusu Gambra during raids on Friday June 20th. The Ghana Police Service hit two different mining spots called Adeade and Nikanika. They found the men moving a big digging machine on a truck trailer. The special task force works hard to stop people from destroying rivers and farms.

The first raid happened at Nikanika where cops found nobody working. They discovered one loaded gun and three water machines that miners use for digging. Police took all the equipment away as evidence. The officers moved to another place called Adeade for the second part of their mission. That location had active miners who tried to move their heavy machinery.

Police grabbed one SANY excavator and four motorbikes without proper papers. They also seized the big truck that carried the digging equipment. The vehicle had license plates showing GN 2136-24. All three suspects help police with their investigation from jail cells. Officers keep all the mining tools locked up as proof.

The raids show how police fight against illegal mining across Ghana. These miners damage water sources that people need for drinking and cooking. They also ruin farmland where families grow food to eat and sell. Police promise to keep catching illegal miners who hurt the environment. The government wants to protect natural resources for future generations.
