Pregnant Mom Kids Survive Wild Koforidua Crash

A pregnant woman and several children survived a car crash Monday morning on the Koforidua-Adukrom road at Mile 44. The vehicle GT 5160-17 carried 15 passengers from Ashaiman to Koforidua when it left the road and flipped over into bushes. The pregnant woman and children walked away without harm. Other passengers got minor injuries from the accident.

Eastern Regional Minister Rita Akosua Awatey happened to drive past the crash site during her trip to Odumase for work. She and her team stopped right away to help rescue people from the overturned vehicle. The Minister made sure injured passengers reached a nearby hospital for treatment. Police officers from the Motor Transport and Traffic Directorate came to investigate what caused the crash.

Nobody knows exactly what made the vehicle veer off the road and flip over. Witnesses saw the accident happen but could not explain the cause. Police continue looking into the matter to find answers. The quick response from the Minister and her team helped save lives that day.
