Pune goes wild as office space demand jumps 40 percent

Office space demand across India climbed eight percent during the opening nine months, totaling 50.9 million square feet. Global capability centers drove this growth pattern significantly. Bengaluru maintained market leadership by securing 14 million square feet and capturing 27 percent of national transactions. Pune, Mumbai, and Chennai experienced remarkable expansion rates exceeding 40 percent annually.

These capability centers occupied nearly 20 million square feet throughout major metropolitan areas. Their activity represented two-fifths of total market absorption. Technology companies and banking firms dominated conventional leasing arrangements at 41.7 million square feet. Flexible workspace solutions gained momentum across urban markets, particularly within Bengaluru, Pune, and Chennai regions.
