Qualcomm's Snapdragon Elite Gen 2 beats top phone by 50 percent

Qualcomm prepares modifications to the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2 before its September 23 launch announcement. Early testing samples achieved performance core speeds exceeding 5.00GHz, though the company reduced these frequencies for the final release version. Digital Chat Station reports the standard model will operate at 4.60GHz, representing an improvement over the current Snapdragon 8 Elite's 4.32GHz configuration. The new Adreno 840 graphics processor reaches 1.20GHz compared to the previous Adreno 830's 1.10GHz speed.

TSMC's advanced N3P manufacturing process enables these enhanced clock rates while maintaining the established two-plus-six core architecture. AnTuTu benchmark results demonstrate the processor achieving four million points, marking a 49.68 percent performance increase over the current leaderboard champion iQOO 13. Industry observers anticipate Qualcomm will release a Leading Edition variant with additional performance gains later next year. Apple's rumored focus on power efficiency rather than raw speed for upcoming A19 processors may position Qualcomm's flagship as the fastest smartphone chipset available.
