Rajshahi University students occupy the administration block demanding nine-point reforms

Rajshahi University students surrounded the main administration building Sunday morning. They demanded nine changes to improve campus life and operations. The protesters marched through student housing and classrooms before gathering outside the Shaheed Syed Nazrul Islam Administrative Building. Student organizers said they will continue the sit-in until officials address their concerns. The demonstration operates under the name RU Reform Movement.

Protest leader Salah Uddin Ammar presented the student demands to university officials. Students want better housing for all enrolled pupils and anonymous grading of test papers. They also seek 24-hour security patrols and a larger medical clinic with 50 beds. The group wants computer systems for paperwork and better food in dining halls.

Students also requested modern equipment for the Central Library and a working Teacher-Student Support Centre. They want university leaders to schedule elections for the student union government. Ammar told protesters the requests are reasonable and need quick action from administrators. He warned that students will stage bigger protests if officials ignore their demands.

Former student leader Mehedi Sajib supported the current demonstration. He urged university management to take the student concerns seriously and act fast. Sajib said working together can help Rajshahi University become a better school. Officials could not reach Pro-Vice Chancellor Mohammad Main Uddin for his response to the student demands.
