Rangpur Riders' title defense crumbles in 32-run loss to Guyana Amazon Warriors in GSL final

Guyana Amazon Warriors defeated defending champions Rangpur Riders by 32 runs at Providence Stadium during Saturday's Global Super League final. Warriors captain Imran Tahir chose to bat first after winning the toss. Johnson Charles retired out at 67 runs while Rahmanullah Gurbaz scored 66 runs during their 121-run partnership. Late hitting from Sherfane Rutherford and Romario Shepherd pushed Warriors to 196 runs. Dwaine Pretorius claimed three wickets for the winning team.

Riders struggled throughout their chase of the target total. Ibrahim Zadran fell early through a run out while Soumya Sarkar managed only 13 runs. Kyle Mayers contributed just five runs as Riders reached 32 for three after six overs. Saif Hassan and Iftikhar Ahmed added 73 runs before both batsmen departed within two overs. Captain Nurul Hasan Sohan scored five runs before falling to Tahir, ending Riders' hopes of consecutive titles.
