Nigerian artist Rema broke records when his album Rave & Roses Ultra reached 3 billion streams on YouTube Music. The achievement makes him the first African musician to hit such massive numbers on the platform. His smash hit Calm Down and the remix with American star Selena Gomez drove most of the streaming success. The album also dominates Spotify with 3.9 billion streams and holds the record for most-played African album. Rema became the first African artist to join the exclusive 2 billion club on Spotify.

Calm Down alone earned over 1.3 billion Spotify streams and grabbed a Guinness World Record as the first number one song on MENA charts. The track received Diamond certification from France and Platinum status from both the United States and United Kingdom. Multiple countries awarded the song Platinum recognition for its incredible popularity. Rema stands as a leading African artist who changed how the world sees music from the continent. His success opens doors for other African musicians to reach global audiences through streaming platforms.
