President William Ruto and Raila Odinga, the leader of ODM, gave 3 million Kenyan shillings to two football teams. The teams were Gor Mahia FC from Kenya and Kitara FC from Uganda.
Ruto talked about this donation when he was at the new Jaramogi Odinga Stadium in Siaya. The stadium had just opened that day. Governor James Orengo had asked Ruto and Odinga to give some money.
Ruto said that "Baba" (a nickname for Odinga) gave 1 million shillings, and he himself gave another 2 million shillings. He said the two teams should share the money because they played really well.
When Ruto officially opened the stadium, he talked about its importance. He said that places like this help African countries work together better, make it easier for them to get along with their neighbors, and help talented people from different countries meet each other.
Ruto promised that the Kenyan government would help finish building the stadium. They'll even put a big roof over it called a canopy. When everything is done, the stadium will have room for 20,000 people to watch sports.
At another event, Ruto also said he would spend 100 million shillings on a place for fishermen to bring their boats. This place will be in Siaya County. Ruto thinks it will help the fishing business in that area.
Ruto and Odinga had a special guest with them. It was Yoweri Museveni, the President of Uganda.
