Ruto vows no forced evictions and big upgrades for Nairobi

President Ruto said people living on disputed lands will not face forced removal without proper plans for new homes. He shared this promise at Njiru Junction during his fifth-day visit to several areas of Nairobi on Friday. He knows about the fight between residents and someone who claims to hold land rights. Both the national and county governments plan to help fix these land problems together.

Ruto wants to bring the country closer through teamwork with other leaders who share his views. He asked all officials to avoid causing division and to show respect to each other. He believes politics based on hate and jealousy hurts national unity. Every group belongs in Kenya by right and deserves equal treatment from the government, he added.

According to the president, Nairobi's years-long water problems will soon end. The Northern Water Collector Tunnel project has finished, and pipes are already connecting water to many city areas. Places like Kiambu, Kasarani, Kabete, Embakasi, and Lang'ata will benefit from an extra 140 million liters of water daily. Ruto also started work on the Umoja Sewerage System, which will serve over 50,000 homes.

The President announced $2 billion set aside for better roads across city neighborhoods. He promised more classrooms in public schools since many kids miss education due to a lack of space. After the government gave $1 billion for this purpose, each of the 17 members of parliament in Nairobi must build at least 30 classrooms. Ruto plans to add 40 classrooms at Tena Estate Comprehensive School and 10 more at Njiru Mixed Day Secondary School.

When launching the Jogoo Road Affordable Housing Project, Ruta stated every Kenyan should have a chance for decent housing. His goal includes building 100,000 affordable houses to change slum areas into better living spaces. The President asked people to wait until 2027 to judge his work instead of focusing on politics right away. He reminded everyone that elections will happen then, and voters will decide their leaders then. For the moment, he wants to address current challenges facing the nation with the trust citizens placed in him back in 2022.
