Ruto's Bold Moves Rescue Kenya's Economy

Kenya's economy was in bad shape when William Ruto became president in 2022. The cost of living was very high. Food and fuel were expensive. The country had a lot of debt. The currency was losing value fast.

Ruto had promised to fix these problems. He said he would lower the cost of living right away. His government stopped giving money to help people buy things and instead gave money to farmers to grow more food.

This plan worked well. Farmers had a huge harvest of maize, which reduced the price of maize flour a lot. Maize is very important in Kenya. When it costs less, life gets easier for many people.

The government also made some other big changes. They worked out a new deal to pay back the country's debt. They also started buying oil directly from Saudi Arabia, which helped make fuel cheaper and easier to obtain.

These moves strengthened the Kenyan shilling, which had been worth much less before. The stock market also improved, and the cost of living started to go down.

Ruto said he had to make some tough choices to help Kenya, but his plans seem to be working. The economy is doing better than it was, and that's good news for everyone in the country.
