Sabah student's dormitory fire sparks police probe as education ministry steps in

Police examine the death of a first-year female student at a Sabah religious secondary school. The teenager reportedly fell from her dormitory building's third level at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Agama Tun Datu Mustafa Limauan. Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek confirmed that her ministry works with investigators on this case. Ministry officials visited the girl's family at the medical facility to provide support and ensure their needs were met. The Sabah Education Department delivered immediate help and psychological assistance to the grieving relatives.

Fadhlina asked citizens to avoid creating theories that might interfere with the official probe. She requested that people respect the family's need for privacy during this period. The minister promised that appropriate measures would follow based on investigation results. A social media user identified as Dun Sindumin Sipitang posted details about the incident online. The deceased student previously attended Sekolah Kebangsaan Pantai Sipitang before transferring to the religious school and was buried at Tanjung Ubi Cemetery in Kampung Mesapol.
