Senior bureaucrat Sanjay Kaul assumed leadership responsibilities at GIFT City on Monday as the new Managing Director and Group Chief Executive Officer. The Gujarat-based International Financial Services Centre welcomed Kaul as he succeeded Tapan Ray, who had managed the organization since 2019. Kaul expressed his commitment to advancing GIFT City toward global recognition as a premier financial and technology center. The 2001-batch Indian Administrative Service officer brings more than two decades of expertise across public policy, infrastructure development, technology sectors, and financial management. His previous assignment placed him as Joint Secretary within the Ministry of Culture. Kaul previously held executive positions with Gujarat Informatics Limited and the Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Limited. His educational background features an electronics and communication engineering degree from the National Institute of Technology in Surat and advanced studies in public policy from Syracuse University. The Gujarat government formalized his three-year appointment through an official notification dated July 15.
