Schweppes Chief Msipa Calls It Quits After 20 Years

Charles Msipa left Schweppes after 20 years with the company. He worked his last day as head of the business at month end. The company announced his retirement on Thursday through an official statement.

Msipa started at Schweppes Zimbabwe in 2005 as the sales chief and moved up to run the entire operation just a year later. Before that, his career path included 13 years at Coca-Cola, where he worked in several African countries and North America.

During his leadership, Msipa helped shift company ownership to local investors, with staff members gaining shares. He guided Schweppes through tough business conditions and expanded both their production facilities and drink offerings. His service extended beyond Schweppes as he led several business groups like CZI and served on multiple boards.

Schweppes has not named who will take his place.
