SDA Church builds Great Height University in Chegutu, opening January

The Seventh-day Adventist Church will open Great Height University next January. The new campus sits on land near Chegutu. Construction workers have made fast progress on buildings and facilities. Students will attend classes at the second SDA university that Zimbabwe has ever seen. Solusi University near Bulawayo remains the church's first higher education center.

Provincial Minister Marian Chombo visited the construction site Monday. She told church leaders that the project brings hope to Mashonaland West Province. The region needed another university for many years. Church officials exceeded expectations when they decided to build the campus. Local residents feel proud about having access to higher education close to home.

Pastor Godfrey Musara leads the SDA Church across Zimbabwe. He explained that education serves everyone regardless of religious beliefs. The church operates 165 elementary and high schools throughout the country. These institutions welcome students from all backgrounds and communities. University leaders plan to follow the same approach when classes begin.

Engineer Albert Machando manages the construction project for the church. He stressed that education forms a core part of SDA values and missions. The university represents a major step forward for the organization. Government officials praised the church for supporting national development goals. Public and private groups must work together to improve services for citizens.
