Sean Combs begs judge for mercy in tearful jail letter

Sean Combs submitted a letter to Judge Arun Subramanian on Wednesday, October 2, apologizing for his actions and requesting leniency ahead of sentencing. The music executive acknowledged assaulting his former partner, Cassie Ventura, and expressed remorse for hurting others through his conduct. He stated the incident replays in his mind daily.

Combs reported achieving sobriety for the first time in 25 years while incarcerated at the Metropolitan Detention Center. He created a six-week mentoring program called Free Game, which received approval from the Bureau of Prisons. The program brought together inmates from different backgrounds and gang affiliations.

The defendant cited his seven children and 84-year-old mother as reasons for requesting mercy. Four of his children lost their mother, Kim Porter, in 2018. He described harsh detention conditions, but emphasized he seeks no sympathy for his circumstances.
