Secret Nkwanta peace talks held by Adele, Akyode, Challa chiefs

Three traditional leaders from Oti Region communities have initiated discussions to resolve a violent dispute that has lasted over four years. Nana Monfankye Amanfo, Nana Okajah, and Nana Kidesa Okunte represent the Adele, Akyode, and Challa areas, respectively. Land boundary disagreements triggered the conflict that has resulted in deaths and property damage. The chiefs met at the municipal executive office to explore solutions. They emphasized the need to move beyond previous disputes for the community's welfare.

The traditional rulers emphasized historical connections between their communities during recent negotiations. Leaders agreed that peace would boost economic growth throughout the municipality. They proposed youth engagement programs to rebuild relationships between formerly hostile groups. The chiefs plan additional meetings to develop a complete settlement agreement. Community members express optimism that collaborative efforts will restore harmony to the troubled region.
