Seedy Jatta Nko School Opens for Mandinka Classes

A new primary school is opening today in Tabokoto. The school will focus on teaching the Mandinka language and welcome children from all backgrounds. To honor a special person, it was named Seedy Jatta Nko Primary School.

Seedy Jatta was a leader who worked hard to help schools teach local languages. He served as a member of the National Assembly representing Wuli East. People remember him for his work supporting native languages in education.

The school wants to help children learn about their cultural roots through language. Students will have the chance to explore the Mandinka language and culture. Teachers will work hard to make learning fun and meaningful for every child.

Located in the Kanifing Municipal Council area, the school represents an important step for local education. It shows how communities can celebrate their heritage and help children understand their linguistic background. Learning local languages helps children connect with their history.
