Qualcomm plans to show off its Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2 chip this September. Leaks suggest the SM8850 chip will use TSMC's newest 3nm process and have a fresh Adreno 840 graphics unit. The chip might double the AI power compared to the Snapdragon X Elite.
The company keeps the same two fast cores with six regular cores, like the current model. Those main cores will run faster at 5.00GHz using newer Pegasus technology. These changes help the chip score about 41 percent higher on AnTuTu tests than the best current phones. The AI part looks strong with 100 TOPS of speed versus just 45 TOPS in the X Elite chip. Memory grew larger with 16MB of special cache and 32MB of L2 cache total.
Digital Chat Station shared these details on the Chinese social site Weibo. We saw some of this info before in earlier posts. The tipster has a good track record, but things might change before release. More news should come as we near the fall launch date.
