Sporty Lagos 3.0 kicks off with cash, kicks, and community vibe

Lagos just threw a huge sports party for its youth. The state government partnered with First Bank to host Sporty Lagos 3.0 at Rowe Park Sports Complex in Yaba. The event, run by the Governor's Office on Grassroots Sports Development, featured competitions across football, basketball, volleyball, and even games like chess and ayo-olopon. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu's initiative aims to engage young people across all fifty-seven local government areas.

The Senior Special Assistant, Adebanji Adeoye Atewogboye, said the program creates a platform for athletes, coaches, and fans. He thanked First Bank for donating five million naira in cash prizes. Atewogboye promised future editions would be bigger, emphasizing the state's goal of building unity through sports. An attendee named Aniocha Benjamin brought his sons and praised the safe, fun environment. Political support came from Honorable Steve Ogundipe of the Oshodi-Isolo Federal Constituency, who donated an extra one million naira. The event solidified Lagos's focus on community bonding and healthy living.
