Square Enix Axes Kingdom Hearts Missing Link

Square Enix keeps working on Kingdom Hearts IV, but fans have seen almost nothing since its first reveal. The company killed its mobile game Kingdom Hearts Missing Link because it would not please players over time. This happens as the firm starts a three-year plan to fix how it makes games. The plan aims to launch big titles more often through team changes. The company will make AI tools, sell games on more systems, and manage all games from one team.

Money from sales will drop, but profits should stay the same until March 2026. Gamers should not expect Kingdom Hearts IV before that time. Other projects remain on track for release. New versions of Dragon Quest I and II with updated looks will come out this year. Final Fantasy VII will arrive on the next Nintendo system soon as well. Square Enix also started making a new game with TV company TBS.
