Sri Lanka's Mishara and Nissanka crush Bangladesh in Abu Dhabi

Sri Lanka defeated Bangladesh by six wickets during their Asia Cup opener in Abu Dhabi on Sunday. The former champions completed their chase of 140 runs with more than five overs remaining. Pathum Nissanka scored 50 runs while Kamil Mishara contributed an unbeaten 46 to anchor the successful pursuit. Their second-wicket partnership produced 95 runs from just 52 deliveries. Mishara struck three consecutive boundaries against Shoriful Islam after settling into his innings.

Bangladesh struggled against disciplined Sri Lankan bowling throughout their innings. Dushmantha Chameera and Nuwan Thushara removed both openers within three overs. The team collapsed to 53 for five at the halfway point before recovering. Jaker Ali and Shamim Hossain added 86 runs for the sixth wicket to reach 139. Wanindu Hasaranga claimed two wickets upon his return from injury to complete the bowling performance that set up victory.
