Sri Lanka steamrolls Bangladesh as Nissanka and Mishara light up Abu Dhabi

Sri Lanka dominated Bangladesh with a commanding six-wicket victory at Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium during their Asia Cup 2025 Group B encounter. Bangladesh struggled after winning the toss and batting first, collapsing to 11 for three wickets within the opening overs. Nuwan Thushara and Dushmantha Chameera demolished the top order with aggressive bowling performances. Captain Litton Das managed 28 runs before Wanindu Hasaranga claimed two wickets to further damage Bangladesh's innings. Shamim Hossain and Jaker Ali rescued their team with an unbeaten 86-run partnership, posting a final total of 139 for five wickets.

Pathum Nissanka anchored Sri Lanka's chase with an elegant half-century, while Kamil Mishara contributed an unbeaten 46 runs. The pair guided their team past the target with 32 deliveries remaining, completing the victory in just 14.4 overs. Charith Asalanka finished the match with a powerful six to seal the comprehensive win. Sri Lanka's clinical performance with both bat and ball established their early tournament credentials.
