St Petersburg cashes in on paid parking

St. Petersburg collected over 24 million rubles from paid parking during 2025's first quarter. The city treasury received exactly 24 million 213 thousand 232 rubles according to the Northern Capital Transport Committee. Drivers are paid most often at parking spots on Ligovsky Prospekt, Kazanskaya Square, and Konyushennaya Square. The parking area in Pargolovo ranked as the most used intercepting lot. These numbers show growing parking usage across major city areas.

The parking income represents just part of the city's transportation revenue. Last year, St. Petersburg earned 3.9 billion rubles from parking violations alone. Officials plan to expand paid parking zones throughout the Central and Admiralty districts later this year. Current parking areas already generate steady income for local government services. Parking management helps control traffic congestion in the busiest city sections.

Parking fees help fund various city projects serving residents. Many drivers have adjusted to paying for street parking as part of daily life. The expansion will add numerous new paid spaces for vehicles. Current popular locations show where demand remains highest. The parking system continues evolving as city traffic patterns change.
