St Petersburg set for 21 Degree April Warmth

St. Petersburg heats up Wednesday as temperatures reach 21 degrees. This warm spell comes from an anticyclone ridge moving through the area. Weather specialist Mikhail Leus says the city will stay mostly dry with partial clouds. These temperatures exceed normal April readings by nearly 10 degrees. The entire northern capital experiences this unusual warmth today.

Similar conditions affect the surrounding Leningrad Region, with thermometers showing between 16 and 21 degrees. The region faces southeast winds throughout the day. Atmospheric pressure remains somewhat high at 767 millimeters. This warming trend ends quickly across the area. Rain arrives on Thursday, with temperatures falling to between 13 and 15 degrees.

Alexander Kolesov from the St. Petersburg weather center had predicted these warm conditions earlier. The forecast confirms his expectations for above-normal temperatures. Weather services also released information about upcoming summer conditions for the city. The current warm spell makes April feel like early summer for many residents.
