Steam Machine prices leak, but don’t hold your breath

Talk of Steam Machine prices just popped up from Czech retailers. Two models showed placeholder tags, with a 512GB version around 835 bucks and a 2TB one near 925 dollars. These figures came from retailer backend systems, not official Valve channels. The weird part is the store pages themselves say the price isn't set yet, which is pretty normal for pre-launch products. Retailers often use high internal estimates before final costs are locked in. These early numbers usually end up higher than the actual launch price.

The whole thing hits as memory chip shortages push component costs upward. Samsung's top boss called the current crunch unprecedented, hinting at wider electronics price pressures. This doesn't confirm the Steam Machine tags, but it shows why everyone is being careful with early numbers. The leak likely reflects how stores are planning, not Valve's final decision.

A release window points toward an arrival in the coming seasons, so official details should follow. Until Valve speaks, treat these retailer figures as a loose guess. The listings suggest the hardware is moving toward launch, but the real cost remains a mystery for now.
