Syeda Rizwana Hasan calls for cleanliness measures at Kuakata, Cox's Bazar

Environment Adviser Syeda Rizwana Hasan demanded better cleaning efforts at popular beach destinations Kuakata and Cox's Bazar before tourist season begins. She led a budget meeting at the Department of Environment offices in Agargaon, Dhaka. The adviser ordered local volunteers to collect trash throughout November and December while requesting more garbage bins at these locations. Officials received instructions to prepare early for maintaining clean tourist areas and educating visitors about environmental responsibility.

Hasan pushed for stronger campaigns against the use of plastic bags and broader public education programs. She emphasized protecting wildlife by keeping elephant migration paths clear of obstacles. The Forest Department must plant elephant-repelling trees near villages and elephant-friendly species along wildlife corridors and forest zones. Senior ministry officials attended the session, which featured Secretary Dr. Farhina Ahmed, Additional Secretaries Khairul Hasan and Dr. Fahmida Khanom, Forest Industries Chairman Md. Nasir Uddin, and Environment Director General Dr. Md. Kamruzzaman among other department heads.
