Businessman and Zanu PF official Kudakwashe Tagwirei has pledged to fund the construction of modern commercial complexes in Glen View Area 8 and Gazaland, Highfield. He announced the initiative at a political gathering, stating it would provide safe, regulated trading spaces for small businesses. The Glen View site has a tragic history, having been destroyed by fire numerous times, with cumulative losses estimated in the millions of dollars.
Tagwirei’s broader community investment package includes building five clinics with maternity wards across several suburbs and drilling eighty solar-powered boreholes to address water shortages. He also launched a substantial revolving fund for his party’s local leagues and distributed Christmas hampers to residents. The government had previously acknowledged the urgent need to reconstruct the fire-ravaged Glen View complex.
