Taiwanese influencer “Nurse Goddess” dies suddenly in Malaysia

A Taiwanese social media personality died from cardiac arrest during a work trip to Malaysia last week, according to multiple media outlets in Taiwan. Hsieh Yu-hsin, who went by Iris Hsieh online and earned the moniker Nurse Goddess, was 31 years old and had previously worked in healthcare before building a following of more than 500,000 Instagram subscribers.

Her manager, Chris, said the medical emergency happened suddenly on October 30 while she was traveling for a photography project, leaving no time for lifesaving intervention. Days before her death, Hsieh had posted photos from what appeared to be a vacation. Chris dismissed speculation circulating online about narcotics involvement at Genting Highlands, stating such claims lacked foundation and noting that law enforcement documents contained no such references.

The family remains in shock over the loss and may seek additional examination of the events leading to her death, Chris said. Hsieh had built her internet presence around her medical training and appearance, also maintaining a subscription platform for exclusive content.
