Tarique Rahman pays respects, protesters move for a sec

A protest group moved their camp so a political heir could pay respects. The Inqilab Moncho group temporarily cleared its sit-in protest at the Shahbagh intersection in Dhaka to allow BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman to visit the grave of Shaheed Sharif Osman Hadi. The group announced this move on its Facebook page, stating it shifted its demonstration to a spot in front of the Aziz Supermarket. They planned to return to the main intersection, also called Shaheed Hadi Square, later that same day. They called for a public gathering there to demand justice for Hadi's killing.

The Inqilab Moncho had originally started blocking the Shahbagh intersection after Friday prayers. Leaders and activists were protesting the death of their spokesperson, Sharif Osman Hadi. General students and other citizens joined this initial demonstration. The group maintained an overnight sit-in at the intersection before relocating for the morning visit. Their stated plan was to resume the protest at the Shahbagh intersection later.
